DESCO Workplace Supplies needed a brand film built around the owner's personal story. Not actors. Not scripted corporate language. Just the person who built the business, speaking directly to camera. Production moved from the Brisbane warehouse into regional Queensland, following the owner into a rural setting near Croftby.
Founder-led storytelling can feel powerful or uncomfortable depending on how it's handled. The challenge was to create a campaign that felt genuine rather than performative, and went beyond a standard corporate profile. The film needed to show the relationship between the owner, staff, workplace, and life outside the business. Audiences needed to feel like they knew the person behind the company.
We approached it as documentary-style storytelling throughout. A Ram truck, Akubra hats, fire pits, wide paddocks, and long stretches of open road became the visual language of the campaign. Drone footage captured quiet moments across the landscape including a solitary vehicle moving through regional Queensland. The strongest founder films rely on detail rather than explanation, and that principle guided every production decision.
A founder-led brand story that felt human and grounded, positioning DESCO through personality rather than corporate messaging. A small business story that felt bigger than its scale.
