Breast Screen Queensland

Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring cancer in Australian women, underscoring the crucial role of effective screening programs. With a full-time, registered, health professional on deck, Welcome to the Fold was a natural partner to collaborate with Breast Screen Queensland for delivery of a series of animations aimed at increasing breast screen literacy in the target populations. Through engaging graphics, we successfully conveyed key messages, including:

• Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in Australian women.
• A woman's risk of breast cancer significantly increases after the age of 50.
• Nine out of 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease.
• Breast screening is instrumental in detecting cancer early, even before it becomes noticeable to the woman or her doctor.
• Early detection of breast cancer opens up a broader array of treatment options.
• For the majority of women, breast screening yields normal results, indicating the absence of cancer.

Our collaboration with BSQ allowed us to creatively communicate these critical messages using a visually engaging approach, contributing to the dissemination of valuable information about breast cancer awareness and the importance of regular screenings.
