Animation is a fabulous tool for premiering a new initiative or communicating a clear and simple message. The trick is to keep it brief, ideally sticking to a minute or less. It’s difficult to engage people with infographic animations for much longer and there's a limit to the detail that your audience will absorb. Clients usually present us with pages of “key information”, all of which is “absolutely critical”. And then, like the brutal beasts we are, we rip those pages up, cut the text down and edit it until the script is simple and clean. Sometimes, we even try to add something quirky, like a Dad joke, but don’t fret, we have standards….we avoid cliches like the plague.
